JOB TITLE: Access Control Coordinator & HR Generalist
REPORTS TO: Director of Trades, Director of Security, HR Manager
SUMMARY
Coordinates submission of access credentialing information for company employees to access facilities where company projects are taking place. Maintains data base like records of employee(s) facility access status. Interacts directly with employees to ensure employees complete required documents, whether on paper or in electronic form, as required by facilities. Interact with shipyard/facility key contacts to maintain status of badge readiness for issue to employee. Interact with project supervisors as needed. Maintain and follow processes in place to ensure compliance with facility access requirements, serving as key liaison between employees, supervisor, and facility key contacts. Support and participate in Human Resource core functions as required or requested.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process and maintain facility access requests for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Verify eligibility and security clearance requirements through FSO or AFSO before granting access.
- Coordinate with shipyards such as NASSCO, Huntington Ingalls, and BAE Systems to ensure compliance with their specific access protocols, both public, and private shipyards.
- Provide guidance to employees and contractors on access procedures.
- Assist employees in obtaining DBIDS credentials, NavSea Badges, CAC Cards, and shipyard badges based on specific facility access requirements.
- Deactivate badges for employees as required, for example, the employee is no longer required.
- Provides HR support for the designated region by assisting with activities as required, such as employee onboarding, benefits administration, policy compliance, performance management, and employee relations, as requested.
- Maintain active, accurate, and current lists of personnel with current badges to all facilities.
- Assist employees as necessary with accessing, through computers, necessary data systems to complete paperwork/credentialing as part of the access control coordination and security clearance process.
- Presence in shipyard environment will be frequent and routine to meet with employees and assist in collecting necessary information from employees as part of the access controls program or security clearance program.
- Maintain situational awareness of upcoming jobs in different facilities, and provide daily updates to key leaders on the status of employee badging ahead of the project starting to ensure employees are accessed prior to the job starting.
- Participate in other regional access support functions, for example in other shipyards or regions where the company is working or has projects.
- Maintain qualification to operate and function in primary or back up role of submitting employees for background checks as required.
- Communicate directly with field supervisors and employees with information about badge expirations to ensure employees are able to be re-issued badges prior to badges expiring.
- Maintain professional communications with all persons at all times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested in the local regions in support of other company security activities related to security of information.
- Travel as required or requested during project ramping ups or demanning to assist as necessary. Travel could be one week per quarter on average.

- Ability to communicate bilingually in English and Spanish is important but not required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year access control or HR generalist experience preferred
- Experience within the Maritime industry preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work is conducted indoors in an office environment, with routine time spent in shipyards
- Must have valid driver's license
- May provide transportation to employees in company vehicle to shipyards/facilities to pick up badges.
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk; must be able to view computer screen for prolonged periods of time; must be able to enter data using keyboard accurately and efficiently
- Must be able to communicate effectively via phone or email with personnel at remote job sites
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 15 pounds at times on an infrequent basis.
- May be required to climb stairs
